About

Seattle writer and naturalist David Williams (GeologyWriter David B. Williams' Author Page) has written several books about Seattle history, most recently Seattle Walks : Discovering History and Nature in the City (University of Washington Press), and as one of his walks takes in some lovely parts of Capitol Hill, we’ve invited him to appear in conversation with Rob Ketcherside and Tom Heuser, founding board members of the newly formed Capitol Hill Historical Society tonight. We’ve asked them to discuss some of the history of our Pike Pine neighborhood (which includes Auto Row and Seattle’s Gay history) as well as some of natural features of Capitol Hill’s parks and neighborhoods and we’re hoping that David Williams will mention some Capitol Hill related history not mentioned in his book. Bring your questions! Rob Ketcherside’s book, Lost Seattle (Pavilion Books) documents some of our city’s most missed buildings and landmarks . He also blogs about Seattle history at ba-kground.com/. Tom Heuser writes the Capitol Retrospective column on the Capitol Hill Seattle blog and and on his blog: recapseattle.blogspot.com.
