We are happy to announce the Handlebars & Bars Spooky Poker Run, benefiting Safe Harbor Humane Society.
This is unlike any of our previous HBnB or ROTLD events. This is something new and will be a chance for us to help a wonderful local organization.
Your first thought might be, "I don't play poker, this isn't for me.", but don't worry, you don't need to know the difference between a Heart or a Spade. All you need is to know how to ride a bicycle, enjoy a beverage of your choosing, wear a great costume (any kind you like), and have a fun day with fun people!
HERE'S HOW THIS POKER RUN WILL WORK:
On Saturday, October 14th, come to meet up at our home bar, Pete's Place, between noon and 2 pm.
Each person will pay a $10 entry fee, and you will receive a wristband and checklist of 5 other bars in the area.
Your mission will be for you and your friends to ride your bikes to each one of these bars, enjoy the drink and food specials that will be available to wristband wearing participants, and with a purchase at each bar you will get their unique stamp on your checklist. After you make it to all 5 stops, at your own leisure and in your own order, return back to Pete's Place between 5 and 7 pm. When you return, with your full checklist, you will be dealt 5 random cards from a deck of playing cards, and your poker hand will be recorded.
After 7 there will be live music, food and beer available, and the winning poker hands will be determined. 50% of the total of the entry fees received will be donated to Safe Harbor Humane Society. The other 50% will be divided up between the 1st place poker hand, 2nd place poker hand and a costume contest winner that will be picked by the organizers.
We know everyone loved the Ride of the Living Dead, and by comparison this is a much more scaled down event. For a lot of reasons that is intentional, so we just ask that you give it a chance, come out and participate to help a great local charity.
